GH2 designed a new 24,000-square-foot free stall barn for Oklahoma State University on the current Dairy Barn site in Stillwater, Oklahoma that is currently underway with construction. The project will include an upgrade to the current waste management infrastructure featuring a flush system in the new barn
The barn will be constructed utilizing a pre-engineered metal building structure with an open-air ventilation system through the barn and “roll-o-matic curtains” to enclose the north wall of the barn during the cooler season. During the programming/conceptual design portion of this project, we guided the university staff in developing an overall program for the free stall barn and provided multiple layouts and ventilation options for review with the staff.
Oklahoma State University is upgrading the existing student housing on-site with new construction residential style housing for six students, each having an individual bedroom and sharing a common living area, kitchen, dining/study room and support spaces including men’s and women’s restrooms, laundry and mud rooms. The house will include a fire alarm and suppression system and will be ADA accessible.
