City of Sand Springs Animal Welfare Facility

We worked closely with the City of Sand Springs throughout this project, beginning with developing marketing and educational materials to support a successful bond initiative for a new animal shelter. The completed 5,200-square-foot facility has replaced the former 2,900-square-foot building, significantly expanding capacity to accommodate cats, dogs, and exotics, on-site. The building was designed with animal welfare and Fear Free guidelines at the forefront. Dog kennels feature indoor/outdoor runs with convenient access to adjacent play areas. Cat enclosures are oversized and filled with natural light, offering perching opportunities and access to a “catio” for sun exposure. Get to Know rooms allow for potential new owners to get one on one interaction with the animals. The facility’s circulation is thoughtfully organized to provide clear separation between staff-only areas, volunteer spaces, and public-access zones.
