Oklahoma State University (OSU) Extension Office
GH2 provided complete architectural services for the new the Oklahoma County Extension Office and Oklahoma
State University Cooperative Extension Office Classroom Building. The overall facility consists of 7,000 square feet of new office space and a 6,500-square-foot classroom building.
For Phase I, the project team worked with Oklahoma County to relocate the previous Extension Office to this new
facility on the Oklahoma County Health Department campus. For Phase II of the project, we worked directly with
Oklahoma State University to build the classroom building as an addition to the Extension Office.
The large entry focal point of the Phase I Oklahoma County Extension Office clearly defines the building’s main
entrance and fits well within the vernacular of the existing County Health Department campus. The open offices
and welcoming lobby enhance the outreach to the local Oklahoma City community. Connected to the offices by a
breezeway, the classroom building includes movable partitions that enable the flexibility to hold a large, 150-person
class, or—by dividing the space into three smaller rooms—hold breakout sessions for as few as three students. The
facility also includes a state-of-the-art teaching kitchen.
