The Ohio State University Equine Performance Evaluation Center
GH2 Equine Architects served as the equine design specialist to Architect of Record, Wellogy on the new Ohio State Equine Performance Evaluation Arena. The goal of this new free-standing Equine Performance Evaluation Arena is to provide an all-weather, multipurpose space for equine gait evaluation to improve lameness specialists’ ability to effectively perform diagnosing and treat performance problems in equine athletes. This arena creates opportunities for evaluation of horses in-hand and under tack, assessment of lameness while traveling at different gaits and on different surfaces, expansion of caseload/research opportunities and outreach activities. The Equine Performance Evaluation Arena will also serve as a powerful recruitment and retention tool for world-class faculty and students.
In addition, a clinic area is adjacent to the Equine Performance Evaluation Arena/trot-up to support performance evaluation activities. This clinic includes an exam area, imaging/block room, holding stalls, client waiting area, client consultation room, conference room, along with building support spaces.
