City of Shawnee Santa Fe Depot Building Envelope Assessment & Historic Roof Replacement
The City of Shawnee selected GH2 Architects to assist in a facility assessment and rehabilitation of the historic Santa Fe Depot. The city is currently using the historic depot as a culture and museum facility to house model trains, display cases and curator’s office. The city opted to phase restoration and rehabilitation work for budgetary reasons. In the first phase, GH2 Preservation
Architects surveyed the building envelope. They used drone technology to capture the structure’s exterior and used a Matterport scanner to create a detailed map of the building’s interior.
With physical observations and scans, the team assessed the roof, stone exterior and windows. The team also used a thermography camera to determine water infiltration and gaps in the insulation.
GH2 recently completed the facility assessment and the city is currently reviewing the report.
