Verdigris Public Schools Activity Center

With its peaked red roof, echoing the Verdigris Public Schools signature cardinal red color, and clerestory windows, the Verdigris Public Schools Activity Center was designed to accommodate a wide variety of athletic and community events. The addition of this facility resulted in less travel between campuses for student practices while also facilitating a meeting/assembly area for the full student body to gather.
Located on the Verdigris High School campus, the 50,875-square-foot fieldhouse includes a 2,000-seat arena and Varsity and Junior Varsity locker room facilities for basketball and volleyball. The arena features a 94-foot competition court, an attached practice gym, weight room, training room and a permanent stage. The stage provides a venue for music performances, graduations, and community events. Retractable seating at the entry level was installed to better utilize the available space and allows for multiple games to be played during tournaments. The location of this new multi-purpose activity center also allows Verdigris Public Schools to provide more gym time to the local groups by freeing up other facilities.
