Muskogee Public Schools 8th and 9th Grade Academy at Alice Robertson

In the same location of the original 80-year-old building, Alice Robertson now provides a new state of the art school. The new facilities balance and connect with the existing gym building, media center, band building and new tech center in a manner that is sensitive to the historic character of the site, while also adding a new layer of purpose and life reflecting the change over time. Our design goal was not a reconstruction, but rather a contemporary interpretation inspired by the original building. Fun Fact: the hallway between the new school and the existing media center has been designed as display and gallery space to highlight the history of Alice Robertson.
