Jenks Public Schools High Performance Math & Science Center
Jenks Math and Science Center is a state-of-the-art facility that creates an active and energy efficient textbook of the different systems that make up a modern building. The design allows educators and students to exist in a space that encourages movement and collaboration.
Jenks Public Schools is inspired by a tradition of excellence and is committed to making sure their buildings stay on trend for future generations. LEED Gold Certification, a dome planetarium with an apex that stretches 70 feet into the air and a 4,000-square-foot multi-use presentation space are just some of the unique features of the Math and Science Center.
GH2 worked to craft a design that was innovative and sustainable. Classrooms provide flexibility – they can be utilized for both day-to-day teaching activities and community events. The result is a Math and Science Center that is advanced yet functional.
• The Planetarium is a housed inside a geodesic dome that is one of the highest points on campus and in the City of Jenks.
• Ten math classrooms and 14 science teaching studios allow instructors to combine math and science curriculums.
• The Center is more than 30 percent more energy efficient than an average school building.
Jenks Math and Science Center is a testament to the complexity of the high-performance 21st century school building. The framework is the future of math and science centers used to shape young minds and prepare them for the future.
