Fort Gibson Military Park Visitor’s Center
Fort Gibson was in need of architectural and structural reports, construction documents, and construction support services to complete the project. The final design was awarded a Citation of Merit from the Oklahoma Historical Society.
Three buildings at this military park were rehabilitated extensively:
Commissary: Three story stone building with a wood roof to be utilized as a Visitor Center on the main level, offices in the attic, and workshop in the basement. Scope of rehabilitation included window replacement, structural foundation repair, replacement of roof, and stone masonry rehabilitation.
Adjutant’s Headquarters: One story stone building formerly utilized as a residence restored back to its original use.
Hospital: Two-story frame administration building is all that remained and was restored to its original use
