Brace Place Tulsa
The Brace Place works with patients so they can achieve and maintain a beautiful smile and healthier teeth. Our team was selected by Dr. Patel, DDS, MS, at the Brace Place to provide design services for the exterior facade and for interior renovations to the existing structure. The original building, built in 1978, was designed in the brutalist style- stark, heavy and overtly masculine. When Dr. Patel took over the practice in 2010, he began by renovating the interior. He hired GH2 to update the outside of his building and to do minor interior work as well, such as adding a restroom and a waiting area for parents. Our re-design of the exterior facade epitomizes the regional modern flair style, with local stone cladding and a custom composite metal panel depicting whimsical brace graphics. The design also includes an expansion of the patient area in the form of a glass wall, facing the street, which will frame the patient observation area. Our architects came up with a unique solution that enables Dr. Patel to continue seeing patients during construction with no interruptions or inconvenience. Completed in September 2016, the project was phased so that the space can remain weathertight and operational throughout the process.
