Tulsa Tech announced construction on the final phase of its $122 million redesign of its midtown Career Education Center.
The Lemley Memorial Campus redesign at 3420 S. Memorial Drive will upgrade nearly 60-year-old buildings into a state-of-the-art training facility.
Covering nearly 350,000 square feet, the new Career Education Center will combine cutting-edge classrooms and labs with programs already thriving on campus, according to a news release.
It will also bring programs like advanced manufacturing, construction trades and information technology to a more centralized location.
“This new facility will be a game-changer for the students and companies we serve,” Superintendent and CEO Steve Tiger said. “We will have a centralized campus location where we have another convenient option for training to serve more of our community members and partners.”
Planning for the Career Education Center began more than a decade ago and was paused due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the release stated.
The project is expected to be completed in time for the beginning of the 2028-29 academic year, “allowing Tulsa Tech to increase enrollment and help more students train for the career of their dreams,” the release stated.
Tulsa Tech, the oldest and largest in Oklahoma’s Career Tech System, is a career and technology center school district dedicated to educating people for success in the workplace.
Tulsa Tech helps high school and adult students from across the Tulsa region explore new careers, upgrade their training and skills, and pursue their dreams. More information can be found at tulsatech.edu.
