Catoosa Public Schools Cherokee Elementary

As part of the 2022 education bond, GH2 is proud to have been a design partner for the new Cherokee Elementary School. The new school replaced two existing schools in need of repairs and updates along with a classroom wing addition, the facility serves grades Pre-K through fifth grade. Cherokee Elementary includes several features to accommodate up to 1,200 students at full capacity upon completion. These features include two music rooms, two art rooms, a media center, and an innovation lab designed to equip students to excel in STEM programs. The two-level structure with bisecting wings allows the building to maximize the uniquely shaped site. The northern most wing contains the cafeteria, and two gymnasium spaces – the largest of which is sized for both athletic events and onstage productions. This wing can be secured for community gatherings as well.
