Opening in 1987, the Bell County Expo Center is funded and owned by Bell County and is located in Belton, Texas, with convenient access to Interstate 35. The Center is managed by Bell County Expo, Inc., a nonprofit corporation, and overseen by a board of directors. Sitting on 50 acres, the Center incorporates a large spectator arena, assembly hall, special events room, exposition building, horse barn and other event areas.
Throughout the years, the Expo Center has served as an important asset to the Bell County community and has accommodated a full range of events including conventions, concerts, livestock and equestrian shows, trade shows, consumer shows, banquets, meetings, rodeo events, graduations and many others.
Due to marketing demands and a desire for growth and expansion, design services have been engaged for a Livestock/Equestrian Facility and additional Multi-Purpose Exhibit Space. Many stakeholders are involved to guide the future of the facility, as well as actively use the facility, including County Commissioners, the Bell County Expo Board, and its administrative staff. These stakeholders along with current and potential user groups were interviewed to gain a better understanding of goals for the facility expansion.
GH2 is completed programming, master planning and schematic design for an expansion to the facility including a new equestrian arena with warm-up arena, additional stalls, support spaces and additional multi-purpose exhibit and dining space.
