GH2 Equine Architects was engaged to provide master planning services for a private equine facility on a 32-acre site in South-West, CA. The site is located adjacent to the owner’s existing residence and has been master planned to provide facilities and amenities for recreation use centered around equestrian activities as well as additional sports and family leisure activities.
These facilities include an eight-stall horse barn with wash bays, grooming bays, tack room and owner’s office, as well as support spaces including a feed room and staff break area. A 100' x 200' covered riding arena with an entertaining-viewing area, office and support kitchen and restroom. A sports arena which includes enclosed, fully conditioned tennis court, racquetball court and batting cage along with support spaces including living, dining, office area, kitchen and a second story entertaining area with pool table that overlooks all of the sports courts. Other site amenities include a 50-foot outdoor round pen, turn-out paddocks, riding trails, support buildings including feed storage, maintenance and equipment storage, staff apartment and future residence for owner’s extended family.
