In a year that's been full of changes, we are extremely excited to see a change in our leadership team with Reid Burton's promotion to principal, effective January 1, 2021.
Reid is a seasoned leader at GH2 and has proven his versatility during his fifteen years with the company. He joined our firm just after graduating from Oklahoma State University's College of Architecture and has worked on a multitude of notable achievements throughout the years, including numerous projects for Jenks Public Schools, Tulsa Tech Lemley Memorial Campus, Hotel Indigo in Downtown Tulsa, Iron Gate, and various other industrial projects.
Although when asked which of his projects has been his favorite, he provides the perfect response, "Our projects are like our kids – there are no favorites! Each one has unique challenges or elements that allow you and your team to grow."
Reid has been GH2's director of design for the past nine years, and in this position, he has been the lead design architect on numerous high-profile projects. He blends cutting-edge design with a high level of technical expertise and impeccable client service. In conjunction with being a successful leader, his hilarious and dry sense of humor and penchant for fun in the studio add to GH2's incredible culture and is admired by all who have the opportunity to work with him.
Tyler Wallace, Associate Principal, commented, "Reid is the go-to guy in the office any time a problem or opportunity arises. He is always looking out for our clients and our people. He is a guy you want in your fox hole."
When asked about what's next for GH2, Reid has a bright outlook, "We are continuously strengthening our culture and core values while maintaining a high level of service and quality. We have amazing people doing amazing work, and nothing is out of reach. And we are proud to have the opportunity to grow together alongside our clients. I'm excited about the future knowing that the best things aren't going to change. The best thing being our culture of trust and empowerment. Our clients entrust us with their projects and depend on us to make the right decisions. The trust and responsibility to make the right decisions is something we pass along to everyone on our team who touches a project. The process is not always easy or pretty, but we all sleep a lot better, knowing that our work is a product of the best decisions we can make."
The decision to promote Reid to Principal is best summed up by friend and fellow architect, Morgan Holt, "Reid is an incredibly hardworking and knowledgeable professional, but more importantly, he's an incredible leader."
"He's always ready and willing to share ideas and advice and pushes everyone to think creatively. Reid also knows how to lighten the most stressful situations with a great dad joke or the first nerf dart shot in an office battle. There is never a dull moment working with him, and we are very fortunate to have him on our team."
We know Reid will be an integral part of GH2's future, and we are lucky to have him as a part of our leadership team!
